Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for handling our company’s ongoing projects on a daily basis. All key
parties must be aware on a daily or weekly basis about the product progression. Product improvements in
hardware/software is the first priority. To be successful as a project manager, you should have a good
working knowledge of project estimation techniques and the ability to motivate team members. Ultimately, a
top-notch project manager should have good communication and decision-making skills to make sure that
the projects are on track. If not, decisions have to be made or issues must be communicated to owners to
keep the project on track. To be a successful candidate, you will need to have proven experience in project
management and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes. A Project Management Professional
(PMP) certification is a huge advantage.

The Product Development Head’s role includes:

  • Discussing potential projects and their parameters with clients, executives, and software
    developers.

  • Planning out the blueprints for software projects, including defining the scope, allocating resources,
    setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.

  • Assembling and leading the project team.

  • Participating in and supervising each stage of the project.

  • Ensuring each project stays on schedule and adheres to the deadlines.

  • Creating a project budget and ensuring the project adheres to the budget as closely as possible.

  • Determining and overseeing consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products in all
    stages of completion.

  • Tracking milestones, deliverables, and change requests.

  • Serving as a liaison to communicate information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other
    pertinent information.

  • Delivering completed software products to clients and performing regular checks on the products'
    performance.

  • Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with
    project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.

  • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.

  • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.

  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.

  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.

  • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and
    budget.

  • Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed
    to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients.

  • Obtaining customer acceptance of project deliverables (when relevant).

  • Managing customer satisfaction within the project transition period (when relevant).

  • Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
